The Peace Corps is a 48 year old, government agency that promotes Peace and Friendship by sending trained men and women into foreign countries to assist them with their skills. Now Peace Corps Volunteers are serving 27 months tour in over 74 countries and have around 8,000 volunteers. Volunteers work in the areas of Education, Business, Environment, Agriculture, Youth and Community Development and Health. There are also assignments in IT, Construction and Urban Planning.
