Welcome Family and Friends of Mills! The staff of Career Services is very excited for the start of a new academic year.
We know the current economic challenges present a stressful time for all of us. In Career Services, we are offering targeted workshops and increased services to assist students as they navigate their way out into the world of work or on to graduate school.
We hope you will direct any student concerned about their future to our office located in the Cowell building.
We cannot control the economy but we can be very proactive in taking charge of what is in our control. Being prepared and polished will go a long way toward securing a job in this time of increased layoffs and decreased hiring.
These times are highly competitive but organizations ARE still hiring. Preparation, knowledge, networking and perseverance will serve each of us well as we move forward. We are here to support your student in her/his journey.
We offer many services and programs for Mills College students throughout their academic time with us and into their future career exploration as well.
We suggest that you encourage your daughter and son to visit with our professional Career Services staff for personalized one-on-one career advising. We also look forward to meeting them at one of the many programs, workshops, information sessions, fairs and employer interview sessions we offer during the fall and spring semesters.

WOW! Words of Wisdom:
- Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men (women) as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is a daring adventure, or nothing. – Helen Keller
- Sometimes questions are more important than answers. - Nancy Willard
- The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself. - Anna Quindlen
- There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. - Beverly Sills
