Oakland, CA–January 14, 2008. The Mills College Graduate School of Business was prominently featured in the East Bay Business Times' January 4, 2008 issue. It was one of four schools featured among the 12 business schools in the East Bay.
The article included color renderings of the new building and quotes from business school Dean Nancy Thornborrow.
Thornborrow said "the new building will stand as a symbol of Mills' commitment to women and the type of education that they need in the 21st century to become successful business leaders."
Unique to the program is Mills' emphasis on nonprofit management, sustainable business, corporate social responsibility, and entrepreneurship.
Thornborrrow said Mills "students apply economic and business models to pressing social problems."
The Graduate School of Business opened in 2001 and enrolls approximately 75 graduate students. Construction on the new building will begin spring 2008 with classes to open in fall 2009.
