Natural Sciences Building Take a Virtual Tour of Mills
The Natural Sciences Complex centers on our newly completed 26,000-square-foot Betty Irene Moore Natural Sciences Building (NSB). This new structure, annexed to our existing life sciences facilities, offers five high-tech classrooms, four teaching laboratories, a research lab, and community space for interdisciplinary study. This center for scientific exploration brings together the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, and psychology into one educational community that encourages collaboration and research across disciplines.
The Natural Sciences Complex offers a wide variety of classroom, laboratory, and research space equipped with up-to-date instrumentation, special outdoor teaching courtyards, and the William Joseph McInnes Botanical Garden for hands-on research and study.
The Betty Irene Moore Natural Sciences Building is the first on the Mills campus to meet rigorous national standards as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) “green building.” Designed from a sustainable perspective in every aspect—including energy consumption, material selection, and water use on the site—the Natural Sciences Building will provide a model for future campus building projects.
Guided tours of the Betty Irene Moore Natural Sciences Building are available by appointment by emailing Brian Harrington (bharring@mills.edu). For a general tour, please visit our campus tour page.
