In 2008 Mills College added a Track and Field team to the already existing Cross Country, Rowing, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, and Volleyball teams.
Since then, the program has expanded to include three coaches and all running and field events except for the pole vault.
Whether you are new to the sport of track and field or a veteran of the sport, there is a place for you on the Mills Track and Field team. The team welcomes all Mills women who have a desire to compete, and who are willing to be committed to their teammates and coaches. All ages and abilities are encouraged to be a part of the team.
Head Coach Laura Davis's focus is on developing strong women. She believes that it is important not only to have physical and athletic strength, but to also develop and grow emotionally and mentally. The best athletes are those who have discovered that they can be strong in all of these areas, and it is her goal to challenge each athlete to be the best she can be in each of these areas.
Practice will be held at nearby Merritt College's all-weather track, on campus, and on the beautiful trails in the Oakland hills. Athletes are expected to attend all practices and compete in all meets. While the team will strive to capture meet titles and succeed athletically, it will also celebrate individual successes and support each other as goals are set and achieved.
