Commencement: Private Parties 

If you wish to have an outdoor private party on campus on Commencement day, you must reserve the location in advance, with Sandy Vavak in the College Events Office, conference@mills.edu, 510.430.2145. Reservations are taken beginning Tuesday, April 1, 2008 on a first come, first served basis. There is no charge and the reservation must be made in advance. You must provide your own tables, chairs, and equipment for private parties, due to the demand placed on the College's equipment and personnel during Commencement weekend.

Please clean up after your event, using marked trash cans. You may pick up extra trash can liners at the Office of Housing Management and Dining Services (HMDS), Sage Hall 138, 510.430.2127, between 9:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday. You will be assessed a fee if facilities and grounds are not cleaned up immediately following a private party.

Important: Interior spaces are not available for private parties so please be prepared with your own rain plan.

College Liquor Policy Agreement: When you make reservations with the College Events Office as a private party sponsor, you will be required to read and sign the College Liquor Policy Agreement. No alcohol may be served outside and hard liquor is prohibited.
