Majors are required to take a minimum of four technique class sessions per week (equaling .5 credit value) with two or more of them being modern technique. The remaining two class sessions may be selected from any of the courses listed in the technique section.
Note:.25 credit equals two technique class sessions per week; .5 credit equals four or five class sessions per week.
Class placement will be determined at the beginning of each semester. All dance majors are required to take a minimum of one semester of ballet at the elementary or intermediate/advanced level and participate in special activities of the department, including setting up, crewing, and striking dance productions.
Senior Requirement (1 course credit):
DNC 190 Senior Project in Dance Research (.5) and DNC 191 Senior Project in Dance Research: Choreography (.5)
Note: Majors should expect to incur additional costs related to their senior project.
And select any other courses from the Dance Department course list to complete a total of 13.75 course credits.
