Mills offers a vibrant literary scene that centers on a community of writers and scholars in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. In an intimate campus environment, you will interact with distinguished faculty, renowned visiting writers, and talented peers. You will develop relationships that will enhance your education and utilize resources that will be invaluable in your career.

You can plug into the local and national literary scene through our Contemporary Writers Series and The Place for Writers. You can edit and contribute to 580 Split, our literary journal of innovative new material. Or you can debut and get feedback on your own work by participating in our regular Works in Progress reading series.

You'll also have the opportunity to teach and tutor literature and writing under faculty supervision as part of our Writing Center or our Community Teaching Project.

In short, you'll find that Mills offers you a variety of ways to connect what you're learning with what you'll be doing in the future.
